2009 part three: grad trip!

My friend Steph and I from the program organized a long-weekend grad trip to Washington. We spent 2 nights in Port Towsend, a small, funky little town on the Olympic Peninsula and then drove to Seattle and spent a night there. It was a lot of fun, and almost the whole class went… which was awesome!

charming Port Townsend

In Port Townsend we ended up staying at Fort Worden, which was an active army base from 1902-53, and now a state park. A bunch of us rented 2 units in this old apartment and the rest camped down at the beach. It was pretty cool, the apartments were super cheap and spacious, we had 2 units connected on the upper floor so basically had the whole upper floor of this building to ourselves, plus 2 kitchens which was great for communal meals. My family used to have a cabin about 20 mins away from Port Towsend and one of my favorite memories from when I was a kid was exploring the bunkers at Fort Worden with my cousins. They’re kind of creepy though..

This post is kind of long.. I’ll post the Seattle pics later.
